Wealth Jars – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Wealth Jars ("the app") is a personal money-management app that splits your earnings into eight jars and helps you track your spending. This policy explains what information the app uses and what happens to it.

1. The short version

Wealth Jars works completely offline. Everything you enter stays on your own phone. We do not collect, store, sell or share any of your personal or financial information. There are no user accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app does not even have permission to use the internet.

2. Information stored on your phone

To work, the app saves the following inside its own private storage on your device:

Your first name, so the app can greet you and personalise reminders.

Your settings: language, currency, theme, jar percentages, jar names and reminder time.

The money records you enter: earnings, expenses, transfers between jars, notes, goals and "no earning today" days.

If you turn on App lock, a salted one-way code made from your PIN. Your actual PIN is never stored.

This information never leaves your phone through the app and is never sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it.

3. Backups and exports you choose to make

"Back up data" and "Export to spreadsheet (CSV)" create a file only when you tap them, and save it to a location you pick (for example your phone storage or Google Drive). That file is under your control; the app never uploads it anywhere by itself. Your PIN is never included in a backup.

"Restore from backup" reads a backup file only when you choose one.

Android's own backup: if you have turned on backup to your Google account in your phone's settings, Android may include the app's data in your personal backup so it can be restored on a new phone. This is handled by Android and Google under their privacy policy; we have no access to it. You can turn it off in your phone's backup settings.

4. Permissions the app asks for

Notifications – to send the daily evening reminder that asks how much you earned today. You can turn it off in the app's Settings or in your phone's settings.

Run at startup – so the reminder is set again after your phone restarts.

The app does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, SMS, phone calls or the internet.

5. Links that open other apps

If you tap "Share Wealth Jars", "Rate the app", "Privacy" or "Contact support", the app opens another app on your phone (such as WhatsApp, the Play Store, your browser or your email app). Whatever you do there is covered by that app's own privacy policy.

6. Deleting your data

Because all data stays on your phone, you are always in control:

Settings → Erase all data deletes everything the app has stored.

Uninstalling the app also removes all of its data from your phone.

We do not hold any copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

7. Security

Your data is kept in the app's private storage, which Android protects from other apps. You can add a 4-digit PIN lock in Settings for extra privacy on a shared phone.

8. Children

Wealth Jars is designed for adults managing their own money. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
